I am an avid photographer, artist, and traveler with a deep passion for capturing the intricate coexistence of humanity and the natural world. I’m a junior at the University of Montana studying photojournalism with a Wilderness Studies minor.
I grew up in Washington State and spent the past few years capturing moments in the mountains and among my friends, refining my photography skills and embracing the beauty of my surroundings. I have a sense of adventure that pairs nicely with a camera. I spend a fair amount of time snowboarding, trail running, backpacking, and shooting photos in between.
I love the intimacy of photography, especially when it comes to portraits and landscapes with a human touch. In the future, I hope to work with magazines capturing the backcountry scene, and to evoke emotion and connection through my images.
In Bangladesh, I will be focusing on the relationships between water and women, capturing the roles that water plays in shaping communities and sustaining life. Water can have a duel capacity to create both vulnerability and vitality. I hope to learn about these effects first hand, through the communities and lives of women who work to provide sustenance for their families.
I hope to dig deeper into individual stories to understand different perspectives on the way water effects people’s lives.
